Summer Learning Journey Activity 3.
Write about something you did brave.
Something that I did brave was when I had to get an operation in my elbow, because the bone was cracked. This is what happened, when I was a year 3 at HPS. My brother and I were playing tag in the playground. Then I went to the monkey bars and accidentally fell down. My brother helped me up and took me to the school reception, they put a bandage on my arm to support my elbow. Then they called the ambulance and my Dad to come to school, when my Dad came my brother was also called to come with us. Then the ambulance came into the school and they brought us at the hospital,
We went to the line, and we waited and a doctor show up and go the X-ray and check my elbow. After that we went to a room and eat dinner and sleep in the room. In the next day my surgery was today. We went to the surgery room and they gave me a mask, I fell asleep then they started surgery an after the surgery they give me ice block and they gave a black cast and they said they put two big nails in my elbow. Then 1 month later they cut the cast off my arm and two doctors went to the room and took out two nails off and it was painful. I was crying when the first one got taken out, I said to the doctor "can one stay on my elbow" but they said no. They pull out the second one and I was crying again and they one put a square bandage on the holes on my elbow. After that we went home.
I am a Year 7 student in the Uru MÄnuka Cluster. This is a place where I will share my learning. Please note that some of it will not be complete, it will be my first drafts. Remember to be positive, thoughtful and helpful when you leave me a comment.

Kamusta Renz,
ReplyDeleteAnother great Summer Learning Journey post - well done! :)
Ouch! That sounds like it would have been very painful. Well done for being so brave - I know surgery can be a bit scary. Do you have a scar where the nails were?
I've never broken a bone myself but my partner recently broke a finger and an ankle and he's got scars from both surgeries. He still can't straighten his finger properly either.
Have an awesome day, Renz. Thank you for sharing your story with me.
Bye for now,
Mikey :)
